uttam ghosh, professionally known as Himalayan Sitar is a sitarist, ethnomusicologist, and educator committed to preserving and innovating  classical musical traditions of nepal. With formal training in Western music from Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory and advanced studies in ethnomusicology at Kathmandu University, he bridges the gap between tradition and modernity. His research, particularly his master’s thesis, ‘Reviving classical Music in Nepal Through Cross-Border Collaboration’, explores how classical traditions can evolve in contemporary contexts.
